Shaykh Zahir Mahmood
Zahir Mahmood is a British-born Islamic scholar who completed his state/“secular” schooling up to age 16. After that, he embarked on the traditional Islamic programme (Alimiyyah course) at Dar al-Uloom al-Arabiyya al-Islamiyya, Bury. Thereafter he spent 3 years studying at Al-Jamia al-Islamiyya, Karachi (Pakistan). Then completed his Alimiyyah course at Dar al-Uloom Newcastle, South Africa. Also obtained a BA in Applied Theological Studies from the University of Birmingham.
Shaykh Zahir holds Ijazah (licences) to teach in various Islamic sciences including Qur’an, Hadith and Fiqh granted by several respected scholars. He has taught the Alimiyya course for two years at Madina al-Uloom Kidderminster. He is a preacher (Khateeb), particularly in Birmingham (Jame Masjid, Aston) among other engagements and is the founder and teacher at As-Suffa Institute, Birmingham.
As a translator of classical Hanafi texts, including sections of Nur Al-Idah By Imam Al-Shurunbulali, Shaykh Zahir is deeply committed to making traditional Islamic Knowledge accessible to English-speaking audiences, especially those seeking connection and purpose.

Shaykh AbdurRaheem Limbada
Mufti Abdur Raheem Ibn Dawood Limbada is a highly esteemed Islamic scholar and senior lecturer at Darul Uloom Bury in the UK, renowned for his deep expertise in Qurʾan exegesis (tafsir) and hadith. He studied at Darul Uloom Bury in England, where he is now a senior lecturer, teaching major hadith collections such as those of Imam Bukhārī and Imam Muslim with astounding depth.
He furthered his studies in India at Mazahirul Uloom, Saharanpur under the tutelage of the late hadith scholar Shaykh Yunus Jaunpuri. His specialisation includes the tafsir of Imam Baydawi, and he is widely respected for his ability to convey complex classical texts with precision.
Over the years, Mufti Abdur Raheem (HA) has mentored many of the UK’s leading scholars, including Shaykh Riyad ul-Haq, Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam al-Kawthari, Mufti Dr. Abdur Rahman Ibn Yusuf Mangera, and many more, thus further cementing his legacy as one of Britain’s pioneer authorities in Islamic Scholarship, Theology and Jurisprudence.

Shaykh Yasir Al-Hanafi
Shaykh Muhammad Yasir Al-Hanafi is a scholar and academic known for his traditional scholarship and contemporary philosophical engagement. Having memorised the Qur’an (Hifz) and spending over a decade studying in the traditional Alimiyyah programme at the Islamic Institute of Dewsbury, he completed this in 2011 which led to him pursuing the following formal academic studies: a BA (Honours) in Philosophy & Psychological Studies at the University of Warwick, followed by an MA in Philosophy. He is also working on a PhD in Philosophical Theology at the University of Birmingham.
He has wide grounding in classical Islamic sciences — Tafsir, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, and Aqeedah (Islamic creed). He is also a senior Aqeedah instructor at Al-Ihsan Institute, and also teaches at other institutes including As-Suffa and Al Balagh Academy. He serves as the full-time Imam at Masjid Toheed Ul Islam in Aylesbury, UK. His work combines community leadership (sermons, counselling, imamate) with teaching and intellectual engagement. He attempts to bridge classical Islamic scholarship with philosophical/theological inquiry in modern contexts, thus making him a respected voice in both academic and religious circle
His training includes both traditional Islamic sciences and Western academic philosophy, which helps him engage with broader intellectual issues.

Mufti Liaquat Zaman
Mufti Liaquat Zaman was born and raised in Birmingham, UK. At age 18 he moved to Pakistan to pursue traditional Islamic learning. He first completed a short Ḥifḍh programme (memorisation of the Qurʾān), then enrolled in the Alimiyyah course at Jamiah Uloom al-Islāmiyyah, Banori Town, dedicating some eight years to this. Following that he specialised in Iftaʾ (jurisprudential verdicts) by studying an Iftaʾ Course at Jamiah Tayyibah, Karachi, earning his Ijazah in Iftaʾ. He lectures in mosques and institutes, delivers khutbahs, and hosts online educational content. He has also started a YouTube channel and podcasts (e.g. via Anchor) to try to make Islamic knowledge more accessible to youth and English speakers.

Shaykh FaizulHaq AbdulAziz
Shaykh Faizulhaq AbdulAziz l graduated from Darul Uloom Bury, UK, a well-known seminary. He studied a range of Islamic sciences including Qur’an, Sunnah, Aqeedah, and other traditional disciplines under senior European scholars such as Shaykh Yusuf Motala, Shaykh Hashim Patel, Shaykh Muhammad Bilal Bawa, Shaykh Mufti Shabbir Ahmad, Shaykh AbdurRaheem Limbada, Shaykh Muhammad Tahir, Shaykh Naushad AbdulAziz, Mufti Ibrahim Raja, among others. He is the vice-principal and senior lecturer of Hadith at the Islamic Institute, Jamia Islamia Birmingham. He also serves as the Director of Birmingham Muslim Foundation and is the Khateeb (Friday sermon-giver) of Taqwa Masjid in Birmingham. He founded the platform Ar-Rashad, which focuses on dawah (invitation to Islam) and education. He edits the “Ar-Rashad” magazine. He lectures around the UK and internationally, and also appears on live TV channels.

Shaykh Shams ad-Duha
Shaykh Shams Ad-Duha Muhammad grew up in East London. He memorised the Qur’an (Hifz), part of which was done locally and completed in Dewsbury. His formal religious studies include early years of the Dars Nizami at Darul Uloom Dewsbury; then advanced studies in Arabic, Tajweed, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh, hadith, tafsir etc., at Al-Jamia al-Islamia in Nottingham. To complete his studies, he travelled to Bangladesh (1997) where he studied hadith texts and received ijāzah under scholars including the late Sheikh Abdul Aziz Doymiri and Sheikh Nuruddin Goharpuri. He graduated first in his class.
Co-founder (2003) of Ebrahim College, an Islamic seminary in East London for training faith leaders. He served as its Director until March 2019. He is founder of Mawarid Lifestyle, an online learning / educational platform focusing on spirituality, Islamic lifestyle, education, and helping with issues such as doubts in faith, mentoring etc. He works as Head Imam of Chelmsford Muslim Society and its madrassah (Makarim Academy), and has held roles as an Imam, teacher, school governor. His focus involves contextualising classical Islamic scholarship for British Muslims, making Islamic learning accessible and relevant in modern settings. He also engages in translation work of classical texts and works in Islamic theology, fiqh, and hadith.

Qari Adil Yusuf
Qari Adil Yusuf serves as Imam at Masjid Al Falah, Ilford under the name Qari Adil Muhammad Yusuf. He is known as a reciter (“Qari”) of the Qur’an; he participates in recitation / Quran-events across the UK. He has public social media presence: there is a Linktree listing for him which links through outlets like YouTube, TikTok, etc. He is often invited as a guest in Qur’ān recitation / hifdh & ijazah graduation ceremonies.

Shaykh Mufti Saiful Islam
Shaykh Mufti Saiful Islam is originally from Sylhet, Bangladesh. He migrated with his family to the UK in 1981, settling in Bradford, Yorkshire. He memorised the Qur’an (Hifz) at age 13. Studied traditional Islamic sciences at Darul Uloom, Bury (UK), under scholars including Shaykh Yusuf Motala. Completed his Alimiyyah / ‘Ālim course, including the six major books of Hadith (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawood, etc.) around 1995. Studied Ifta (jurisprudential verdicts) and was granted the title “Mufti” in 1996. Founder, Principal, and Director of Jamiah Khatamun Nabiyeen (JKN), an institute of Islamic learning in Bradford. Editor of Al-Muʾmin, a family magazine. Holds leadership positions in various community / religious bodies, including: President of Tawak’kulia Jami Masjid in Bradford. Chairperson of Al-Kawthar Welfare Foundation. Also engaged in writing and issuing fatāwā, teaching classical Islamic sciences (Fiqh, Hadith, Tafsir, Usool of Fiqh etc.). Particular interest in Muslim minority jurisprudence, UK family law (marriage, divorce), issues affecting Muslims in Western contexts. Also involved in applied social science modules: sociology, psychology, critical thinking, comparative religion.

Shaykh Rafiq Sufi
Shaykh Rafiq Sufi was born in England. He studied at Darul Uloom Al-Arabiyyah Al-Islamiyyah, graduating in 1992. He memorised the Qur’an, and is qualified in various Islamic sciences including fiqh and hadith; he also holds multiple ijazahs (teaching licences) in Qur’an, jurisprudence, and hadith. He has served as Imam in various mosques in Northern England, including a stint in Leicester. Currently a teacher of fiqh, hadith, and Arabic language in Blackburn. He is Chair of the Lancashire Council of Mosques. He has delivered lectures widely across the UK and internationally, and has involvement in youth outreach. In addition to teaching, he is active in charitable/humanitarian work.

Shaykh Haitham Al-Haddad
Shaykh Dr. Haitham al-Haddad is a prominent British Muslim scholar, jurist, and community leader of Palestinian origin. He pursued his formal Islamic studies in Saudi Arabia, where he graduated with a degree in Shari‘ah from Umm al-Qura University in Makkah, later earning a PhD in Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) from SOAS, University of London.
He is a senior scholar and founding member of the Islamic Council of Europe (ICE), providing expert guidance on matters of family law, mediation, and Shari‘ah compliance. Shaykh Haitham is also involved with several UK-based Islamic organizations and initiatives focused on community reform, da‘wah, and education.
Renowned for his deep understanding of fiqh, usul al-fiqh, and maqasid al-shari‘ah, Shaykh Haitham has contributed to discussions on contemporary Muslim issues—ranging from finance, family, and politics to Islamic identity in the West. He frequently delivers lectures, seminars, and public talks across the UK and internationally, aiming to empower Muslims to live confidently and faithfully within modern societies.
